Jeff Goldblum (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Jurassic Park), in his first starring television role, plays Lionel, a "brown shoe" accountant, who through an unlikely set of circumstances forms a private detective agency with Tenspeed, a masterful con-man, played by Ben Vereen (Roots, All That Jazz). Tenspeed is the realist, while Lionel fantasizes of having adventures like the fictional private eye he idolizes, Mark Savage. "Tenspeed and Brown Shoe" is the first independent production from acclaimed producer Stephen J. Cannell ("The A-Team," "The Rockford Files"). Vereen reprised his role eight years later on Cannell's "J.J. Starbucks."
